spring fashion trend – bucket hats are back, and still not going anywhere

Vogue has officially declared that the bucket hat fashion trend is going no where. You can thank Y2K fashion and the early return of 90’s and early 2000’s style. The bucket hat is officially back on the fashion scene. And with its laid back yet edgy vibe, there are plenty of reasons to embrace the trend. What are bucket hats Yes, I’m talking about the fisherman style hat with its narrow, downward-sloping brim. While fashion leaders and celebrities have been obsessed with the re-emergence of the bucket hat trend since 2020, they’re making even bigger headlines in spring 2022.  Typically made of canvas, the most outrageous styles have even been spotted in thick padded faux fur and shag (but let’s not go there).  Who’s wearing them Fashion leading celebrities like Bella Hadid, Hailey Beiber and musician Duo Lipa have all been spotted wearing bucket hats on the repeat paired with beach style and street style alike. The ever fashion social circle has also widely adopted the trend, rocking bucket hats with y2k fashion, retro outfits, …

self check, is this outfit even me?

An inbox full of fashion newsletters, runway updates, trend magazines and reports – and don’t even get me started on scrolling for hours through covet-worthy insta posts. It’s easy to get lost in the world of fashion.  We are a culture of excess, and access to it all. Working in fashion and managing a side hustle fashion blog keeps me brow-deep in all things fashion. And studying all of the world’s most tantalizing trends can sometimes make it difficult draw the line between what we love, and what’s truly “us”. If your wardrobe hasn’t felt like you lately, maybe it’s time for a self check.  It’s important to realize you can appreciate all kinds of fashion, without feeling like you need to jump on board with every single trend. If you’re trying to reduce clutter and maintain a more minimalistic wardrobe, perhaps it’s time for some self diagnostics before shopping. Pre-shopping self(help) checklist: Does this piece express something about me? Is this something I would feel confident wearing? Do I have other items in my …

5 modern trends with a classic past

Repeatedly the fashion industry will tell the story of how trends come in and out of fashion. The perpetual crashing waves of trends that hit consumers and sky-rocket the value of different products. So often, when a trend crashes upon us all again we forget the past. We forget where the look originated from and just how long it has been around. However, as someone who adores history in all forms, obsessing over the past of these summer trends came easily to me.  September fashion week’s trends for spring proclaimed many maximalist looks to be particularly chic, but the most relaxed looks that were coming to us were the ones steeped in the ultimate amount history. From trench coats to plaids the runways weren’t just filled with our new favorite looks but also our history from long ago.  Here’s a rundown of a few of the most modern trends with an iconic classic past. #1 Trench coats There is little room to doubt that trench coats have a classic past, from the name itself to …

Want to make it a little easier on yourself? Here are some tips on how to wear this season’s spring fashion trends for a smaller waist. Tuck in your top The best way to create a smaller waistline is by showing it. Wearing tops out and over your jeans is going to make your waist look like the same size as your chest line. Tuck in …

the mini bag trend on fashion bloggers

mini bag trend | born from a need for less

Our world is chaotic. Returning from a long weekend in Nashville, TN – I was surrounded by miles of traffic, crowded sidewalks, and music city bars packed shoulder to shoulder. The sound of soul searching in the artists’ voices were nearly drowned by a mix of chattering and classes clanging. After the show, people spilled into the littered streets – not to return home, but to the next audio highlight or corner pub. With them, friends, phones, and a bag full of their life “essentials” were dragged along with them into the endless night. Makeup, chargers, midnight snacks, you name it – people carry it with them. But the truth is, the social stimulation and electric setting is more than enough to consume everyone’s focus. The rest is just stuff. Stop and smell the roses. We don’t need more, we need less. In an experience-first generation, the clutter is only weighing us down. Lighten your load, and listen to the subtle voice of minimalism. Then get back in those doors and do the two-step like …

luxury fashion suit separates get sporty with athleisure pieces

tailored suit set remixed with sporty details

Taking a break to spend some much needed time with my white angel on the couch, and wanted to share this look with you all. One of my favorite trends of fall 2018 is the evolution of athleisure in luxeleisure styles. This year, we see a movement of suiting and dress pieces making bolder statements with sporty accents. From tailored, business suiting layered with belts and sneakers, to more casual takes on the trend (like this two-piece crop and pant set), it’s a playful combination that exudes confidence with a playful twist. You’ll be spotting some more formal execution of this trend here on the blog in weeks to come that’s great for office or day wear, but in the mean time, here’s an easy play off the trend that you can wear at home, or casually out in a more relaxed environment. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | top c/o:AMMARA | logo belt:GIVENCHY   They key to the trend is matching your suiting pieces for a totally monochrome look, or layering a …

current fashion trends – vinyl pants, shoes, skirts, oh my

Are you prepared for one of the most daring fall fashion trends? Vinyl hit all over the runways in 2017, and now it’s hit our wardrobes, hard. From vinyl pants to shoes, skirts, coats – you name it. This trend is all about being slick and devilishly sexy. As a fashion blogger leaning towards the darker side of luxury, this trend was spot on for my taste, so here’s the rundown on all things vinyl in fashion that’s happening now.   Carven patent trench coat / Yves Saint Laurent rock and roll pants / Topshop Unique patent skirt, $330 / MANGO zipper skirt, $39 / Chanel quilted tote   What is vinyl, and what should I wear it with? Vinyl in fashion has many names, including patent leather or PU. Basically, it’s a synthetic material made to look like glossy leather or plastic. The slick sheen does wonders to emphasis curves, so make sure you’re wearing it where you want the focus to go. I’m wearing a pair of Vinyl pants from David Lerner to …
