tailored suit set remixed with sporty details

luxury fashion suit separates get sporty with athleisure pieces

Taking a break to spend some much needed time with my white angel on the couch, and wanted to share this look with you all. One of my favorite trends of fall 2018 is the evolution of athleisure in luxeleisure styles. This year, we see a movement of suiting and dress pieces making bolder statements with sporty accents. From tailored, business suiting layered with belts and sneakers, to more casual takes on the trend (like this two-piece crop and pant set), it’s a playful combination that exudes confidence with a playful twist.

You’ll be spotting some more formal execution of this trend here on the blog in weeks to come that’s great for office or day wear, but in the mean time, here’s an easy play off the trend that you can wear at home, or casually out in a more relaxed environment.

They key to the trend is matching your suiting pieces for a totally monochrome look, or layering a sport jacket over casual, unexpected pieces. Today’s look opts for the first, with a tonal marl grey combination long-sleeve crop and traditional suiting pants. The top is from Ammara, a brand designed for versatility within the modern woman’s lifestyle. They focus on the details and special silhouettes, like this criss-cross back on this wool-mix crop.

The dress pants are a generic pair I’ve actually had for a couple of years, but really excited about a couple of new pairs from my wishlist from Shopbop with an updated, crop hem fit. Shopbop has hundreds of luxury suiting separates making great key pieces for this trend. Their site is super organized, so you can easily shop just the blazer or pant, or opt for the coordinating set together. I’ve had my eye on a couple check and leopard pieces which double down on so many trends this season, the possibilities are endless. With so many layering opportunities, that also makes these pieces great investment pieces for your fall wardrobe! If you’re looking for a look similar to this, or for the on-trend check and leopard print suiting separates, I’ve included the shop link below!

After you’ve got your suiting covered, it’s time to get sporty. I wrote a whole blog post on sporty belts. Here’s one more reason why a logo belt like this one from Givenchy might be your must-have accessory of the season. I’ve worn this with dresses, over suit jackets, jeans, and (as you can see) with a monochrome suit set for that extra pop of luxeleisure style. The sporty logo belt is extremely versatile, and belts are one of the better bargain luxury brand items you’ll find.

Even though I’m playing barefoot with my Snow White beauty in these photos, the final element is some chunky sneakers to complete a tailored remix on sporty style. Jeffrey Campbell, Fila and PUMA all have some great chunky sneaker styles at really affordable prices (some under $70!) that you can gab and wear now through the spring season. You can shop the brands below for a few awesome steals (I went for Jeffrey Campbell myself, more to come soon!).

So many more looks coming soon with the evolution of suiting styles and sporty pieces. What’s your favorite look in the trend? I’ve been belting blazers, mixing T-shirts and casual pieces with suiting and more. If you’re looking for more inspiration on the trend, you can also check out my Pinterest where I save all of my favorite fashion bloggers doing it right! ’Til next time… xoxo.
