dark in white

There’s hardly a moment in life that goes by without the slightest mix of emotions. I know I ordered chocolate ice cream, but that black cherry swirl is looking pretty good… I do like these shoes, I’m just wondering if I should have worn flats… all white, or black bag… yeah I do feel like going out tonight, but Netflix and chill is sounding pretty alright as well… you get the drift. When there are so many beautiful futures in our horizon, it’s sometimes difficult to choose the “right” path. (and yes, I’m assuming all futures are beautiful at this point). As my brother has said, “In my life, every day is a holiday, and every meal is a feast.” I’m a pretty indecisive person by nature. This was not one of those days. Feeling firmly confident in the day’s choices both in wardrobe and life choices in general – I went out the door running forward with guns blazing. All sweetly white from Salient Label with Public Desire dark black strap pumps to offset …

at the back of the north wind

“…though I cannot promise to take you home,” said North Wind, as she sank nearer and nearer to the tops of the houses, “I can promise you it will be all right in the end. You will get home somehow.” ― George MacDonald, At the Back of the North Wind Did your mom ever read to you as a child? Mine did. And I often wonder how much that impacts the way I see the world today. Reading has a way of expanding the mind and imagination in ways that nothing else really can. It’s like a type of magic, transporting you into a place that doesn’t exist, but in many ways feels more real than reality itself. Working as a Creative Writer not only for this space, but also as a career has been an eye opening experience, and in many ways brings me back to that time as a child. After all, storytelling (whether for children’s books or branded message) really aren’t so far apart. It’s that pathway to mutual understanding – an emotional connection …

minimalist watches from charlize

Many of you are fully aware of my watch obsession, and Charlize is one brand of minimalist watches which I own not one or two styles – but several. So in honor (more like dread) of daylight savings time today, I thought it only appropriate to post one of the most beautiful ways to tell the time. (though let’s be real – I use my phone for that… watches are for decoration right?). photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | timepiece collection c/o:CHARLIZE (use code: dayinmydreams15 for 15% off!) | beige knit c/o:VIDEO | white jeans c/o:PARKER SMITH | gold stack rings c/o:GRAMERCI | silver hardware cuff c/o:GRAMERCI | gold weave bracelet c/o:CAROLYN COLBY | white marble iphone case c/o:RICHMOND & FINCH The time change hit softly for me this year, spending the hour in an Airbnb for a weekend in NY with not a place to go or thing to do other than cater to my lazy whims. Spending the first hours of the morning delved into the blog, and likely spending the other half with croissant and mimosa …

dancing in the light

March has finally made its arrival, and with it signs of spring – creating a perma-smile and thoughts of dancing in the sun light. Outerwear is shifting to the lighter fair, and I’ve found myself taking daring glances towards my summer attire. All things light, flowing, and white are beckoning me, and finally I gave way to this airy shirtdress and contrast pumps. Still a bit chilly, but for my mini excursion it actually suited quite well. The effortlessness of a shirtdress always appeals to me – slip it on and you’re usually good to go with no fuss. I actually toyed pairing this one with thigh-high boots and a jacket (perhaps more seasonally appropriate) but couldn’t resist a good A’Gaci pump.#AgaciGirl photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | shirtdress c/o:AGACI | pumps c/o:AGACI | hat:BRIXTON | sunnies c/o:FINLAY & CO | timepiece c/o:FJORD | rosegold ring c/o:THE PEACH BOX New rose gold timepiece is from Fjord (I know you were eyeing it). sunny days should be casual

Continuing to enjoy unseasonably warm as rays of sunshine spill into the eastern US. My coffee pot has never felt so neglected, and my margarita blender so overused X) Just wrapped up week two at the new job, and my happy-glow is still on full beam. Everyone should have the opportunity to wake up with a smile, and be able to carry it throughout the rest of the day til you land back in bed. Predicting the year 2016 to be the best of many. Lifesong playlist on repeat, and I don’t want to turn it off. And with sunny days and spirits, I’ve been keeping it relaxed and casual to match the mood. Recently joined hands with A’Gaci for a series of collaborations, so excited to be sharing their collection with you. First on the list is this fray denim, white-out weekday casual wear. Skinnies and a blouse are a go-to when weather permits and I don’t feel like over-thinking my attire. Bonus points for monochrome (that’s even easier). And when it’s cold, I pretty much just swap out the heels for …

day in my dreams

Took a dive, started on a whim, and ended up being one of the most incredible adventures I could have asked for – Happy 1st year anniversary to day in my dreams. The experience is beyond what I could ever have expected it to be, and you have made it that. Thank so much for supporting me from the very beginning through this first year. Your encouragement and inspirations have not only kept me blogging, but also brightened many days in my own personal life, like a close group of friends along for one of life’s many journeys. Having this opportunity to take something that is a passion and inner release for me, and being able to share that and interact with so many incredibly talented people, brands, and companies – is something I will be forever grateful for. I feel truly blessed. Also, feeling a bit cheesy (but truly want to know how grateful I am for each of you) after this extended speech – so let’s get back to it shall we? Thought it appropriate to make …

it’s only natural

Wisconsin bound, making the most of my 45 min interval of free internet at the gate, compliments of American Airlines. A genuine thank you for the access… but seriously… with as many times as I’ve been canceled and delayed for hours (literally every time I fly with you), 45 minutes is all you got for me? #whereisthelove Cranky you say?? I had to be up at 3:30am to catch this flight, and my morning tea bag sunk into the bottom of my cup so all I’m drinking is hot water. So screw you world!… and your heavy tea bag!!! On a brighter note, I’ve actually been quite chipper lately upon finding some inner peace, and taking another step of growing past surrounding conflicts and being able to just. let. go. Practice that smile enough, and it’s only natural. We were created for a beautiful purpose, let’s reflect that light. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:iPHONE6 | white ensemble:TJMAXX | leather clutch c/o:THE LEATHER COLLECTIVE | shoes:MADELINE | rings:FOREVER21 | timepiece:OMEGA | smokey nail laquer c/o:INTENSAE Speaking of light, can’t decide which I like …

say you’ll remember me

Walked into the grocery store this weekend to the welcoming aroma of freshly brewed, pumpkin spice latte, only to discover on my way out that it was actually perfumed pinecones… who came up with this madness?! While usually apprehensive of the changing of the seasons (hey fall fans… did you forget that WINTER comes next??)… this year I actually find myself quite ready for the cool morning air. Feels like a fresh start every day. Plus, I have been eying my growing stack of knit sweaters that I’m dying to get into. So much so, that I would actually feel a bit deceitful if I did not also share with you, that I am currently wearing said sweater – even though outdoors should reach the mid-eighties today. Hey – it’s cool in the air conditioning. #dontjudge White after Labor Day? Bring it on. (I just realized all of my paragraphs begin with “W” today… weird) Wearing a new top from Danice Stores that was a total steal, and layering on the white for fall transition. Fashion rules are made to …

it started in september

Ever wonder what it would be like if every whimsical notion that popped into your head was not only entertained, but thought through and dissected for the possibility of execution – rather than locked away into your mind’s file cabinet of endless ideas without further engagement? Well, there would probably be a lot of failures, and impossible amounts of wasted time and resources. But a precious few of those ideas would be given the opportunity to escape the mind’s prison and become something beyond it’s otherwise zero potential, opening up a world of unlimited possibilities. All that to say, today I’ve decided to start a journal of a day in my dreams. This particular day was what I like to think of as perfection. Nothing is better than a warm breezy day in September being spent outdoors with nothing in particular pressing to do, other than take the time to enjoy the moment. Stop and get a cup of jo at the local coffee shop, take the pooch for an extended stroll, eat a cucumber wrap with hummus, and take a …
