the way you make me glow

Soft and subtle. Warm and safe. It’s not who you are; it’s the way you make me feel. A fire crackles behind me, a sound competing only with the rain dropping on the skylights above. Naizak sleeps just between myself and the back door, probably the coolest place she can find while keeping me within sight. The afternoon was spent with delightful guests over a light brunch and a few (dozen) bottles of champaign. It’s a comfortable feeling having spent the day surrounded by people you love, and ending in silence and time to reflect. photography:ME | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | white lace dress c/o:ML Monique Lhuillier   There are some people you encounter that touch you differently, more deeply than others. The people that can, from a single glance, capture your thoughts, feelings and the deepest parts of your soul. They know. They see you. They don’t have to say anything, or even react. It’s an awareness. A different level of existence where you coincide on the same plain. They can speak to …

luxury fashion capsule wardrobe tips

this is where I leave you

The past couple of months have been an arduous challenge in time management, making a personal oasis essential for survival. It’s been overwhelming at times, but then I often think that’s what I live for. Moving into a new house, undertaking new challenges, and shifting towards some fresh starts has all but kept me in flight at any moment of the day. But at last, my new home has come together, with a beautiful open studio space for my work and plenty of space designed exquisitely for myself. The transition was difficult, as change often is. New beginnings are also an end, and many aspects of that evolution were bittersweet. But endings should not be sad. Rather, they should be a celebration of something beautiful. The past does not melt into the abyss, part of it stays with us forever. I am forever grateful for the places and experiences that I came from, for each moment in the present time, and the continuation to the imminent future ahead. photography:ME | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | …

view of china from my hotel room

hello again, day in my dreams

There was nothing magical about the night like in the movies. No pedestal balcony looking over a night sky full of stars and a city full of lights. No marble floors and mid-century modern furniture. No crystal wear or decanters of aged scotch. In fact, everything was quite ordinary in the 4-star hotel corporate suite. A faint smell of room service sat in the air, I had taken a shot of the city when I first arrived of the bedroom view. It was beautiful, but not breathtaking. photography:ME | camera:iPHONE X   The room had a familiar feel to it, as if you had been there before. But perhaps it was just the standard beige wallpapered bathroom and bleach white sheets you find in most hotel accommodations. Yet, something about it felt new, inspiring even. Maybe it was just the jet lag and 30-hour trip with minimal stimulation. Whatever it was, the shift from dreamworld to reality was inevitable. I felt excited. As if I had just found something that had been lost for so …

ugly duckling, a serenade to the season

so what if I’m not

A heavy fog weighs down on the mountaintops, yet the haze on the horizon is only half as concealing as the changes whirling in front of our eyes. Autumn has arrived, and the time has come for another serenade of the seasons. A fall night wind murmurs secrets of the season’s change, and we begin to seek comforts of a darker palette, a tighter hold, and whispers by a fire. Our deepest instincts urge us to be prepared, guarded and protected ourselves from the cold that is to come. We should be seeking comfort, but what if I’m not? Walls are often as dangerous as what they were built to protect, and the comforts of a fire can just as quickly burn you with a single touch of the flame. Life is unpredictable. And no matter how much we may focus on the preparation of safekeeping, the irony is that these measures make us no safer than we were before. Instead, they instill a false sense of security, create a crutch and make us shut …

luxury fashion essentials for the minimalist

life and luxuries for a minimalist

With life rolling through like a freight train, it’s important to be able to step back and appreciate the small things. Coffee on the porch on a cool morning, the laughter in the eyes of someone you love, a fragrance the reminds you of home – these small moments let us pause. They give us a deep satisfaction of being only in the moment without distractions, capturing every sensation more intensely than we often allow ourselves. These are the moments we get lost in, a treasure that cannot be met for value. In the fashion industry, it’s easy to get caught up forgetting these moments entirely. Operating at jet speed and surrounding yourself with material items, hunting for the latest fashion trends, and skimming through so much content, it’s easy to become too overloaded for truly soaking everything in. Since starting a luxury fashion blog just a few years back, I have learned how fast those treasured moments can pass you by. Striving to lead an alternative minimalist lifestyle, it has become an important part …
