’Til 2022, a deep desire for “less” has continued to well up in my being. Perhaps partially driven by a complex, heavy world around us. Simplicity is uncomplicated peace, and excess is no more than baggage. I’ve applied this not only to a more capsule approach to my wardrobe, but throughout my home and life as well. It’s become easier and easier to let go of the baggage that builds up with time, and more and more rewarding as the piles of unneeded disappear leaving more time to kick back and enjoy what you have. Not only in things which are material, but also in matters of the mind. We are a generation of over thinkers. Of excess, and emotional weights we carry with us throughout our lives. Confession of a fashionista, I hate winter. Not dislike, nor do I find it disagreeable. I loath it entirely. The cold, the snow, defrosting my car in the mornings, shoveling the sidewalk, winter fashion, wearing so many layers I feel like an over-stuffed burrito – no thank you. Though I was able to escape the first of the year on a tropical adventure to Bali, I still came home to a fair amount of the season’s harshest. Fall’s chill is setting in. You can feel it even on the sunny days, a ghost hovering between you and those familiar summer rays. But alas, so many ravishing rompers and so little time… so I’ve stretched the season for one last romp of flashing legs and bare shoulders before they’re tucked away ’til next year. The romper that couldn’t be tucked away just yet – a gift from my babes at Premonition. Remind me I need to write a proper review on them at some point. My closet is literally filled with their pieces, and they’re my first thought when looking for something that’s high fashion, reeks of good design, and yet somehow manages to be perfectly understandable and attainable to a general audience.
