monday felony case mood board

in case you’re in the mood

A monochrome palette for weekday inspirations. Setting the mood for a week of calm after returning from the rush of NYC. Shifting trinkets around, sliding fingers over the smooth marble and crystal textures of a new Felony Case collection, glancing quickly at the pages of a dated magazine – yet the classics never go out of style. photography:KRISTINA PETRICK | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | iphone marble case collection c/o:FELONY CASE | marble handbag c/o:CAFUNE | timepiece c/o:HARPER AND BROOKS | monochrome loungewear top c/o:DAVID LERNER | monochrome laceup pant c/o:DAVID LERNER | diamond stack rings c/o:K’DANGELO Happy Monday friends, we’ve made it to the start of a new week. A subtle gloom lingers outdoors from the shadow of summer’s rain, but the mood indoors feels less than somber, enjoying today working from home. The softest luxury sweats, playful tunes, and a spirit peaceful – yet eager to start the new day. It’s truly the simple pleasures… appreciating the beauty in details, the feeling of softness on your skin, knowing that you’re in control of …

soaking in the nyc quin penthouse

Experiences are the chapters of life that shape lifestyles and make us who we are. Stepping out of your door to feel the breeze caress your face as you scope your surroundings and soak it in. Today is a new day. The steps we take are the moving force to what the rest of the body will experience – the sights, the smells, the sounds. You control the direction, so walk purposefully. Spent the weekend soaking in a bit of luxury at The Quin Hotel. Met with friend (and incredible blogger & photographer) Elma – the day started with coffee and croissants and evolved into shots from porch to windowsill. The company and setting couldn’t have been better for the afternoon. photography:ELMA BEGANOVICH from AMRA & ELMA | location:THE QUIN HOTEL PENTHOUSE | mesh overlay crop c/o:PREMONITION | mesh overlay skirt c/o:PREMONITION | t cuff c/o:GRAMERCI DESIGN | crosbody bag c/o:WANDERERWANDERER Light was pouring in through the ample windows of the spacious 3-story penthouse, and the forecasted rain showers held off as if just for us until the very …

on the edge of nothing

Time flies like a turbo yet, and life is living in the fast lane. It’s easy to get caught in the stream, but as important to keep it from flowing over you. There is an enormous value in an organized, structured plan for daily tasks – and staying ahead of those to keep stay on the edge of nothing. Currently attempting to do just that by crossing off a few projects and to-dos to get a head start on Monday. While I prefer to spend Sundays in bed, it’s a pearl knowing you have a jumpstart on the week as well. Spring approaching, it’s also time to get a start on wardrobe cleansing (those piles on my floor are just getting taller) and living life as a minimalist has become far from the truth. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | long vest c/o:FABRIZIO GIANNI | pants c/o:FABRIZIO GIANNI | shoes c/o:NICOLE | wallet c/o:STATUS ANXIETY | arm cuff c/o:WREN GLORY | mother of pearl beads c/o:ZACASHA | mother of pearl ring c/o:CHAINLESS BRAIN (use code: KRIS15 for 15% off!) | timepice …

knit on knit

Casual girls are confident (or just lazy) one of those – I’ll choose to side with the prior. Knit everything blew up the runways and ready to wear – in unconventional forms of knit sets and knit dresses, and it’s no wonder. Women want to feel good in what they’re wearing. And not just because they know they’re a babe. Literally. We want to feel good. And there aren’t many things in life that feel as good as thick knits across your skin and nothing else. This knit set is no exception. Lamoda101, you make me want to lounge so hard, because it’s just so soft. Nothing is as good as life’s simple pleasures, and this year has been an allowance in excess of such guilty luxuries. And why shouldn’t it be. With all life throws at us on a day to day basis, if something simple as cozying down dressed in knits and indulging in whole-milk lattes puts a smile on your face – it’s worth it. And while you’re at it, double that …

Reflecting on blogging edition 2015, there have been more unexpected challenges and exciting opportunities than I ever could have imagined. So much can change and develop in just a year’s time, here’s to you for joining in on the ride. One such opportunity that I’ve been just dying to share with you guys: I’ve joined up with the Berskha team for a series of features on their blog! You can see shots from the first shoot below, on a journey through D.C. Their team has been incredible to work with, and their collection is simply amazing. It was difficult for me to narrow down which pieces I wanted to style together for each shoot, but settled on some solid basics and nautical accents for this story of the city. They are an international retailer, so their broadened scope of fashion and trends can really be seen in the details of each item. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | head to toe c/o:BERSHKA Gotta love being surrounded by some of the nation’s most monumental pillars of alabaster marble. Want the full scoop? light and night

Playing with contrast. Two things contradicting each other, yet existing side by side can be a truly beautiful thing. They say opposites attract. While I can’t always agree with that, there is something to be said for differences making everything a bit more interesting. Without one side, how could you truly appreciate the other? If you want to see the whole bunch and caboodle side by side, go to New York. There isn’t a type of person there you won’t find. And in fact… I love it. what happiness is made of

Hello, and happy Saturday. Had the most wonderful past weekend with an impromptu trip to NYC to visit a good friend. All 48 hours held every bit of bliss one could ask for – from city sights to tasty bites, complete with a luxury stay in Union Square’s W Hotel. Spending these better moments in life always brings to mind a thought: what exactly is happiness made of. Is it a formula of positive experiences combined in the right moments, soaking in the luxuries life has to offer? Is it something that can be created and re-created if the solution is found? I believe happiness is many things. But above all, it is a choice – the eyes through which you see the world, and spending it with those you love. Thank you friends, for just such a weekend. Will fill you all in on more details from the trip in later posts. In the mean time, all my wishes to each of you that your weekend and days to follow are spent in happiness. Apparently feeling all warm and …

just when things were getting interesting

Enjoyed a bit of unorthodox leisure time last week. Between checking off some of those dusty to-do’s and enjoying a couple evenings over a glass of wine (and by a glass, yes… I do mean bottle), I was also also able to catch the flick Kingsman. Antiquated as the concept may be, I can’t get enough of the gentleman = lethal spy plot. Guys, in case you haven’t figured it out yet – suits are to women, as lingerie is to men. We find it attractive when you at least look like you’ve got your sh** together. And really, if you can’t bear to get out of your stained collage T and torn jeans on occasion, just bear this in mind: you don’t wear it, neither will we. #yourenotthebossofme #unlessyoulooklikeone Something about leather pants aways does it for me. day in my dreams

Took a dive, started on a whim, and ended up being one of the most incredible adventures I could have asked for – Happy 1st year anniversary to day in my dreams. The experience is beyond what I could ever have expected it to be, and you have made it that. Thank so much for supporting me from the very beginning through this first year. Your encouragement and inspirations have not only kept me blogging, but also brightened many days in my own personal life, like a close group of friends along for one of life’s many journeys. Having this opportunity to take something that is a passion and inner release for me, and being able to share that and interact with so many incredibly talented people, brands, and companies – is something I will be forever grateful for. I feel truly blessed. Also, feeling a bit cheesy (but truly want to know how grateful I am for each of you) after this extended speech – so let’s get back to it shall we? Thought it appropriate to make …

if chic off duty

Returned from Columbus after a week of trend work for fall 2016, and finally ready to cozy down into my own home for the next several days.Currently catching up on emails and inspirations. The soft rain piddling outside my windows is adding to the nostalgia… thick blankets, hot tea, and not a place to go or thing to do. It feels so good to be home. Going to be draped in some seriously off-duty styles for the next couple of weeks. Jeans, I’ve truly missed you. And something about holey ones makes me feel even more relaxed. Got these new ones and this cozy knit bralette from the Lookbook Store. I’ve seriously been living in this bralette, and plan to be in nothing else for the rest of the day. They’ve got some seriously great steals, if you’re in the mood for some online shopping this weekend! photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | blouse c/o:IFCHIC | denim c/o:LOOKBOOK STORE | bralette c/o:LOOKBOOK STORE | bucket bag c/o:THE LEATHER COLLECTIVE | shoes c/o:CLARKS | timepiece c/o:CHRISTIAN PAUL | iphone case c/o:GMYLE | stack …
