my beige life

Snowed in on the east coast, and loving every moment of it. These moments of ordinary life are ones you can appreciate all of the simple things in life… namely a hot salt bath and a bottle of red wine #bringonthesnow Being house-bound also means I’ll be spending another week working from home, and saving NYC for the first week of Feb. Just ordered my home office supplies (goodbye bank account) – at least I’ll be graduating from the kitchen table soon. Will be sure to share photos as soon as it’s up. Planning to swap around arrangements every couple of weeks or so to keep the setting fresh. Getting things organized has also prompted cleaning out the closet (yet again) and getting back to basics. I’ve been living in skinnies and knits this week. Any other minimalists out there adding beige to their monochrome wardrobe? Something about the fleshy tone makes me feel nearly as good as nude. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | grecian knit c/o:VIDEO CLOTHING | skinnies c/o:PARKER SMITH | …

a week in review

So much has happened in the past week, I hardly know where to start. NYC is now my home away from home. The first week and a half working the new job is officially under the belt, last week spent at the home office in NYC, and this week the pleasure of working from home. Quite honestly, I don’t know which I prefer. The flashing lights, exciting nights, and endless new adventures of the city will always make me feel alive. But then again, being able to work in my PJ’s isn’t bad either… In review, I’m grateful for the opportunity to have the best of both worlds for the time being, and plan to spend a great deal of the new year practicing appreciation for all of the many blessings in life – especially the people who have truly impacted me in so many beautiful ways. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | white denim c/o:PARKER SMITH | kicks:ADIDAS ORIGINALS | hair extensions c/o:IRRESISTIBLE ME | iphone case c/o:GMYLE | rosegold bar ring c/o:STAR HARVEST …

from the other side

Hope everyone survived Turkey day with nothing worse than food commas and pumpkin pie overdose. Gotta love a holiday that centers around over-eating. Seriously. I love it. And couldn’t have had a better weekend with a full house  of loved ones and record 65 degree and sunny afternoons. Finally, one year I don’t dread the post-turkey trot with frost icing over my face. #gobblegobble So yeah, coat weather… not such a big fan – sweater weather, that’s a whole other story. Who wouldn’t love cozying into this oversized knit from French connection (another TJMaxx find!) and wide leg trousers from Parker Smith. Why is it that the best denim always comes from California? Californians, I’m officially jealous of your cotton loving, jean weaving state. I must come visit you. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | knit:FRENCH CONNECTION | wide leg trousers c/o:PARKER SMITH | timepiece c/o: THE FIFTH | rings c/o:K D’Angelo Designs | ear cuffs c/o: BOUTIQUE MINIMALISTE New timepiece from The Fifth. You know I have an obsession, and it keeps getting worse. Love the bold face and brushed band. And …

The elephant keeps walking as the dogs keep barking. Something they don’t teach you in business class. This adage from India came from my partner in crime, and I will continue to keep the words in heart. With the growth of success, comes an onslaught of negativity. And no, I’m not talking about constructive criticism that helps you grow. I’m talking about the truly nasty, nonfactual, and unprofessional based nagging and manipulation of situations with seemingly no purpose or cause. You’ve probably worked with a few such people in your life, and if you continue to grow in a path of success, you can probably expect a lot more. While the spirit’s first reaction may be to reflect the attitude, the best advise I’ve received: The elephant keeps walking as the dogs keep barking. The fact of the matter is, you’ll never be able to train the dogs. Instead, an elephant walks steadily through the streets, seemingly unaffected by the barking around them. Focus on your goals and how to achieve them. The rest around you, is just noise fading away. photography:KUNDAN …
