Fidelity Denim review: jeans and denim skirts made in America

“One of the few remaining denim brands to cut, sew and wash all of our products in North America.” – Fidelity Denim

Starting to care about how and where your products are made? Here’s a fashion brand that’s committed to creating modern jeans with high quality denim – all made start to finish in the USA.

In this Fidelity Denim review, I’ll cover fabric, fit, quality and style of my favorite selections for a relaxed, fashion forward lifestyle that you can style for everyday occasions.

Fidelity Denim is a brand that makes jeans in the USA

First a bit about the brand. When I was approached with the opportunity to cover Fidelity Denim, I was first intrigued by their manufacturing stance to cut, sew, and wash all products in America. Even working in fashion, I have barely begun to scratch the surface of the ins-and-outs of brands labeling themselves “made in USA”, only to discover many products need merely to be glued together in the final stage of production to be labeled as such. Not so with Fidelity Denim. It’s refreshing to see a company dedicated to creating jobs in the USA by keeping manufacturing here – even when there are high quality, lower cost options all around the world. We say America is a land of freedom, and isn’t building something with our own hands a part of the beauty of that? I also see a lot of cool fashion brands emerging from LA, so I was hopeful Fidelity would live up to my expectations.

Fidelity Denim fabric is sourced from Italy and Japan

Denim arrived, and here’s the scoop. The material is primarily sourced from Italy and Japan. Of the 5 pieces I sampled, all have a medium weight feel with a good amount of stretch.

Fidelity Denim designs several stretch fit denim pieces

If you’re wondering if denim will have a stretch, look for materials like Elasterell-P or spandex. The higher percentage of a stretch material, the more stretch the denim will have. Fidelity Denim lists fabric details in the product descriptions, so you can always know what to expect.

Overall I found the fit to be quite forgiving due to the stretch. I would recommend ordering true to size and work from there if something doesn’t fit your body type quite right.

Fidelity Denim is a good mix of quality and classic style

The quality of Fidelity Denim wasn’t bad, superior as compared to some fast fashion sources.  I posted some close-ups of material and stitching so you can get a good idea of quality for yourself. I find the styles to be quite moderate on trend (not too fast, not too slow), providing a range of versatility and style.

Fidelity Denim is a great resource for classic cut denim you can wear for years to come.

How to style Denim skirts and classic cut Fidelity Denim jeans

Fidelity Denim jeans are good to style with classic and modern looks because of their not-too trendy styles.

I selected four key pieces for a relaxed, fashion forward lifestyle that you can style for everyday and occasions. Here are some Fidelity Denim outfits to give you some Inso for styling your American made jeans that can take you from outdoor activities to evenings out.

For outdoor activities: Mid-thigh shorts and chunky sweater

We live on a small blueberry farm, and spend a great deal of time outdoors. I wanted to style a look that was comfortable and functional enough for an active lifestyle. These longer cut, mid-thigh shorts are cute and casual, with a sort of homegrown feel. Paired with chunky cashmere and a puff vest, the look is modern American country, and feels especially good being made in the USA. You can snag the shorts for yourself in the Fidelity Denim sale for a steal!

Denim skirt outfits for office and casual outings

I’m a true 90’s girl, so the return of the denim skirt trend is a fun one for the throwback. Looking forward to playing it up to the max over the summer, I styled two denim skirt outfits with Fidelity Denim.

Let’s be honest, a black motto jacket and blue denim skirt outfit is the way to wear the denim skirt trend this spring.

Though I tried a few other options, this combo was ultimately my favorite to rock for spring to fall occasions. During summer, shed the jacket to a ribbed tank or classic white tee for a true all American look.

This black denim skirt by Fidelity is looking like a key piece for spring through fall.

Since I often prefer neutral colors, it’s a piece that’s highly versatile in my wardrobe, and wears a bit dressier than its blue denim counterpart that works well for business casual to evening occasions.

I styled this denim skirt outfit for early spring, with a cashmere cardigan, socks and loafers. Late spring, I’d swap the shoes for open mules. In the summer, cashmere can be traded in for a ribbed tank or sleeveless mock neck.

Fidelity Denim classic American jeans for everyday

Last but definitely not least, I had to style a pair of traditional American made blue jeans to complete the Fidelity Denim review. You probably don’t need many styling tips for classic cut denim, but here’s a great go-to outfit that’s appropriate for a really wide range of functions from casual Friday to lunch, cocktails and everything in between. Wear your denim with your favorite tee or crewneck and layover over a statement blazer for a fool-proof look that will take you anywhere. Simple statement jewelry will polish the look, and you can go more casual paired with sneakers, or dressier with mules.
