the quin hotel overlooking nyc

soaking in the nyc quin penthouse

Experiences are the chapters of life that shape lifestyles and make us who we are. Stepping out of your door to feel the breeze caress your face as you scope your surroundings and soak it in. Today is a new day. The steps we take are the moving force to what the rest of the body will experience – the sights, the smells, the sounds. You control the direction, so walk purposefully. Spent the weekend soaking in a bit of luxury at The Quin Hotel. Met with friend (and incredible blogger & photographer) Elma – the day started with coffee and croissants and evolved into shots from porch to windowsill. The company and setting couldn’t have been better for the afternoon. photography:ELMA BEGANOVICH from AMRA & ELMA | location:THE QUIN HOTEL PENTHOUSE | mesh overlay crop c/o:PREMONITION | mesh overlay skirt c/o:PREMONITION | t cuff c/o:GRAMERCI DESIGN | crosbody bag c/o:WANDERERWANDERER Light was pouring in through the ample windows of the spacious 3-story penthouse, and the forecasted rain showers held off as if just for us until the very …

minimalist fashion open to interpretation

The art of interpretation is both a beautiful and malicious thing. Every set of eyes sees the world in a different way. Some seeing the troubles and complications in live – others seeing beauty in even the darkest moments. It’s easy to get lost in your own line of sight, but one who can see from many perspectives is able to tap into worlds that can transform the way we see, think and believe. And whether those directions are right or wrong, that shift in direction acts as a catalyst into the co-existing lives around us. It’s kind of like modern art. Everyone who looks at the strokes and colors on the canvas see something different, and that’s what makes it beautiful. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | minimalist silk crop c/o:TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE | minimalist silk trouser c/o:TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE | lava stone earrings c/o:EVERY MONDAY | stack rings c/o:EVERY MONDAY That is exactly what I like about Too Damn Expensive (and no I’m not talking about price tag). casual minimalist sneakers

casual sport sneaker style

Kick back and let your hair down, summer is here and it’s time to squeeze the most enjoyment out of each day. There are so many experiences possible in life’s journey, and I plan to take as many as possible. So many times we get caught up in daily routine and forget to spend time relaxing or getting out to explore the world. Instead, have a mindset of get-up-and-go with a no-excuse attitude for getting stuck in the rut. So far so good with days spent poolside, mini trips to D.C., VA beach, NYC and beyond. What’s on your jetset list for the summer? Don’t make excuses of why next weekend might be better… GO! photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | slip-on slacks c/o:FABRIZIO GIANNI | leatherette top c/o:THE RUSHING HOUR (30% off with code: dayinmydreams30 ) | saddle bag c/o:DESIGUAL | purse pom pom c/o:LUXE BLOGGER | casual sport sneakers c/o:WINDSOR SMITH Nothing makes me feel more relaxed and ready to go than casual sneaker style that lets me run as fast as my feet will take me. …

the golden years

The golden years are upon us, and not because of age, season, or any other reason – it’s here because we say it is. And as long as you believe that, those words will hold true. There is something beautiful to be grateful for in everyday if only you’re looking for it. And a positive attitude is 100% the pathway to get there. Though the balance of outlook can prove to be a challenge, and one I’ve far from mastered. Being positive without naivety, content without being complacent, careful without being anxious, being confident without airs. If you can find the sweet spot… teach me please? The black and white areas in life are easy, but the fine grey lines are an art to be mastered. A few goals for the year to keep things in perspective. What IS black and white on the other hand… this #ootd (well black, white and gold that is). Wearing slides for the first time of the season, and I must say – it feels fabulous. Literally. My feet love you Clarks, and …

on the edge of nothing

Time flies like a turbo yet, and life is living in the fast lane. It’s easy to get caught in the stream, but as important to keep it from flowing over you. There is an enormous value in an organized, structured plan for daily tasks – and staying ahead of those to keep stay on the edge of nothing. Currently attempting to do just that by crossing off a few projects and to-dos to get a head start on Monday. While I prefer to spend Sundays in bed, it’s a pearl knowing you have a jumpstart on the week as well. Spring approaching, it’s also time to get a start on wardrobe cleansing (those piles on my floor are just getting taller) and living life as a minimalist has become far from the truth. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | long vest c/o:FABRIZIO GIANNI | pants c/o:FABRIZIO GIANNI | shoes c/o:NICOLE | wallet c/o:STATUS ANXIETY | arm cuff c/o:WREN GLORY | mother of pearl beads c/o:ZACASHA | mother of pearl ring c/o:CHAINLESS BRAIN (use code: KRIS15 for 15% off!) | timepice …
