summer whispers of wanderlust

She released a sigh as deep as the sea, let down her hair and let life begin. It’s not easy to let go of the troubling whispers of doubt and insecurities, but a moment staring into the sunset or across the ever moving waters of the sea spanning into nothingness drowns the voices into the abyss – and there happiness is found. Let the warmth of the sun cover your skin warm the deepest caverns of your heart, be in the moment, and be free. This is the spirit of wanderlust, the traveler’s soul. Let go, breath, and dance to the symphony of life’s little miracles surrounding you every step of the way. This life’s next journey is taking me across the sea back to India – a place which captured my heart from the first moment I stepped foot on the charmed grounds. Prepare yourselves for an eastern Asia journey soon to come – and in the mean time enjoy these moments of wanderlust that can be had here from home. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | …

fashion technology

Working for a digital marketing agency and coming from a fashion marketing background – the era of fashion technology has peaked my interest with this generation’s beautiful savvy accessories and the emerging of wearable tech. Something about the contrasting duo of “beauty and the brains” almost reminds me of a romantic novel or TV series – in product form. But truly, with the advancement’s in today’s technology – why not enjoy the advantages of latest music, fashion, fitness and smart tech all bundled into one pretty package? What a cool millennium we live in. This post is a bit more of the fashion tech types – but I’ve got some exciting updates in wearable technology coming up as well so stay tuned. photography:YOURS TRULY (ME) | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | fashion tech laptop skin c/o:CASEAPP First on beautiful tech is the highly Instagramable accessory for the iPhone to Macbook – cover skins. healthy body happy mind

Just returned from a week in NYC and off to VA beach for a weekend getaway… the hustle has my mother dearest reminding me that a healthy body and happy mind keep illness away – take care of both to keep the doctor away! No life support called in yet – so looks like that department is going pretty well so far. Keeping things simple and following a happy, logical outlook makes it simple to keep the head held high . The warm season has reduced my time allowance for fitness procrastination, so finally taking steps forward on that healthy summer bod (and considering I’m out of breath climbing three floors to my apt, looks like there’s some serious work to be done). photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | essential tank c/o:AMVI | essential leggings c/o:AMVI | flatform shoes c/o:WINDSOR SMITH | green tea c/o:MATCHA TEA | timepiece c/o:RUEBEN RAY | silver rings c/o:EVERY MONDAY GHOST Trying a new Matcha green tea powder that promises to boost the metabolism and increase energy to give me that …

how to be a fashion blogger without an instagram husband

We’ve all been there. The perfect outfit lined up hanging neatly on a rack, a beautiful (warm) slightly-overcast day that’s screaming “take photos” all leading up to… no photographer. The dread. And as many of you know, keeping up with a blog isn’t as easy as it looks… Hours can be spent poured over one post – and throw in a wrench like that – the blogging game can be seriously thrown out of whack. (If only we could clone ourselves…) With the viral video “Instagram Husband” I was forced a slight chuckle imagining so many similar scenarios in which I and my photographer had similarly sacrificed normal life for the sake of just the right shot. What would I do without him… sigh. Until that one day… he decides to go on vacation – and I am without him. The blog must go on, and though it was a bit of a challenge – I was able to put together some nice content during his 10 day getaway. The secret: check it out. Here …

teatox and travel wear

Frequent trips have led me to develop some go-to habits which are my fail safe to avoid all the many mini crisises that can happen along the way. Travel wear: it’s a science. Packed bad shoes? Bandaids in bag. Airport security? Liquids in easy-access purse pouch. Might need an evening clutch but don’t have room for another single bag? Clip chain for the wallet. Sounds like madness, but these types of little tips keep a swing in my step and the hitch out of travel. If anyone can figure out the solution for delayed flights… queue me in. #lifestory For the most part, the main issues are averted with some basics steps that save a bit of time – and make traveling a whole lot more simple. For example: travel wear. This one took me surprisingly a long time to master. It was a constant battle of what was “comfortable” and what was social acceptable to wear in public. Frankly – I couldn’t care less about the latter. But at time, duty calls for us …

at the back of the north wind

“…though I cannot promise to take you home,” said North Wind, as she sank nearer and nearer to the tops of the houses, “I can promise you it will be all right in the end. You will get home somehow.” ― George MacDonald, At the Back of the North Wind Did your mom ever read to you as a child? Mine did. And I often wonder how much that impacts the way I see the world today. Reading has a way of expanding the mind and imagination in ways that nothing else really can. It’s like a type of magic, transporting you into a place that doesn’t exist, but in many ways feels more real than reality itself. Working as a Creative Writer not only for this space, but also as a career has been an eye opening experience, and in many ways brings me back to that time as a child. After all, storytelling (whether for children’s books or branded message) really aren’t so far apart. It’s that pathway to mutual understanding – an emotional connection …

happiness happenings

With thoughts, ideas, and inspirations whirling through my head  – one reigns supreme: I am so thankful and humbled by God and His goodness. I had originally planned this post to be revolved around the happenings of NYC Fashion Week, glittering parties, incredible people that were met, and experiences that were had. (Don’t worry, all of that in posts to come). But first allow me to gush on some other happiness happenings. (oh and the Happy Socks btw – purely a perfect coincidence) This week marked my second in the NYC office, and makes for just over a month of my career switch. The work space was buzzing, and oceans of words cannot express how happy I am to be surrounded by passionate hard-working people, and a group of brilliant leaders to guide us into a new chapter of a beautiful story – one which I hope never ends. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | ribbed knit c/o:SAMMY DRESS | destroyed denim c/o:BERSHKA | cuffs:THPSHOP | timepiece c/o:CHARLIZE (get 15% off with code: dayinmydreams15 )| …

the luxe life

Current situation, livin’ it up in my home space this week, feeling incredibly grateful for people that I love, a job that I look forward to, and ample packages arriving in the mail every week #spoiled #bloggerlife Planning for my alternate week at the New York office next Monday, and do you know what I realized… it’s going to be NYC FASHION WEEK! Packing just got a whole lot more complicated. Couldn’t be more excited to be surrounded by the festivities. I’m one lucky girl with invitations to a couple of events I plan on attending, especially excited to be joining the awesome Bloglovin’ team for a night out courtesy of the king of luxury, Ferragamo. a week in review

So much has happened in the past week, I hardly know where to start. NYC is now my home away from home. The first week and a half working the new job is officially under the belt, last week spent at the home office in NYC, and this week the pleasure of working from home. Quite honestly, I don’t know which I prefer. The flashing lights, exciting nights, and endless new adventures of the city will always make me feel alive. But then again, being able to work in my PJ’s isn’t bad either… In review, I’m grateful for the opportunity to have the best of both worlds for the time being, and plan to spend a great deal of the new year practicing appreciation for all of the many blessings in life – especially the people who have truly impacted me in so many beautiful ways. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | white denim c/o:PARKER SMITH | kicks:ADIDAS ORIGINALS | hair extensions c/o:IRRESISTIBLE ME | iphone case c/o:GMYLE | rosegold bar ring c/o:STAR HARVEST …

coffee break into new year

Christmas past, my gaze is now set to my favorite day of the year – New Years Day. A feeling of old burdens shedding off like dust blowing into the wind, it’s time for another re-birth, and the change has already begun. Beginning the first week of January, I will be transitioning into my new role in creative content for a marketing agency in NYC. I wait on the days with baited breath, and these moments between hardly feel like reality. Embracing the best of both worlds, I’ll be spending half of my time in the city, and have the privilege of working from the comfort of home alternate weeks. Choosing to take some time off between positions, I’ll be spending the week setting up a home office and streamlining my travel essentials.
