Anne Fontaine’s fall collection boldly celebrates feminine style

The rain pattered gently, just loud enough to be heard softly through the double pained glass. The birds sang lightly through the weather, not ready to give up their morning posts. The chill in the corridors was undeniable. Fall is here. And with it, a new season of luxury with Anne Fontaine. Readily equipped for the darker days that lie ahead, Anne Fontaine has just released their FW22 collection. Bolstered with strong details, this drop faces the season in unrequited resolve. Padded full-length jackets, crepe utility cargos designed with a more elegant consumer in mind – it’s just what you’d hope for from the bold, darkly romantic brand of luxury. The fall collection is edgier than ever, with high contrast pieces that exude ferocity while not withholding Anne Fontaine’s signature celebration of feminine style. Beyond the seasons statement pieces, ruffled blouses, elegant knitwear and new additions to Anne Fontaine’s signature white shirt collection. My seasonal selects, a padded jacket, crepe cargos and some classic Anne Fontaine workwear pieces. The full length, reversible padded jacket is …

the 5 top minimalist fall fashion trends

In years past we may have shed a tear for the parting of summer style and the beginning of the new top fall fashion trends… but in a world so much different than seasons past, we welcome the change (any change really). There is always a political or social driver behind fashion trends. This year, a global pandemic rocked our world. With our sense of security shaken, we see “wellbeing” as an industry that is growing twice as fast as the global economy. We have become more aware. Not only regarding global culture, and sustainability, but also of the intimate condition of one’s self. In a chaotic world, simplicity, learning experiences, and mental and physical health become a force behind conscious fashion choices. As we step towards a new season, we have cut back to the essentials. We’ve learned what’s important, and the era of a true minimalist fashion wardrobe has arrived. But no fear, that doesn’t mean fashion is dead. In fact, the top minimalist fall fashion trends are receiving quite a warm welcome, …

Parisian style and luxury essentials | Anne Fontaine pre-fall collection

Orange crisp leaves mingle with late-summer buds. The very air seems warm in hue. Mid-day still brings out freckles and sun-kissed cheeks, while midnight brings chills and firefly lights. September has arrived, and with it the first signs of fall. A late summer has kept roses and purple blossoms in full bloom, but they won’t last for long. If you could bottle it all and pour its essence into a collection of wearable luxuries, you’d experience the Anne Fontaine pre-fall collection. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | outfits c/o:ANNE FONTAINE   Speckled with potpourri floral prints and exquisite fabrics, Anne Fontaine’s line of luxury fashion pieces are a treat for the romantic at heart. Burnt orange, blush and lavender hues compliment their wardrobe staples of black and white day-to-night essentials. Full lace and artisanal embroidery grace modern, feminine silhouettes. This season, a flair of Parisian style can be seen in the collection of dreamy blouses and flowing dresses. French Parisian style has become a notable summer and fall fashion trend this year. I …

fall’s last fight, the sun sets and the season changes

The sky is buttery cream, blurring softy with the tree tops. Flashes of gold flicker between the branches, and through the window one can hardly imagine the forbidden cold that lies just on the other side of the glass. The waters glow like crystalized roses, fading into grey as it slowly disappears over the horizon. The sun sinks a smidge more, and the golden trees transform into dark shadows against the intensely glowing sky of pinks, orange and gold. For a flash, all colors become vibrant, one last hurrah before the sun retreats for the night. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | felt hat c/o:LULUS | knit dress c/o:LULUS | sherpa vest c/o:LULUS | velvet pumps c/o:LULUS Grey, quiet, stillness. Dusk folds over the earth, a foreshadowing of the season to come. The crisp chill of the morning past is pushed away and replaced with a haunting cold. The motion forces leaves from their branches, fluttering to the ground in defeat. Solders lost in the fight of the season’s bitter sweet transformation. Darkness. …

something silk

Summer’s long gone and the craving for cozy has already started to set in. Chili has been on the menu twice this week, and evenings become a race to get home before dark. The moon that used to look friendly and cool has darkened to a cold foreboding stare. In search for the little comforts in life, we find ourselves groping for anything that has brought us relief in years past. Thick socks, riding boots, and dare I say… pumpkin spice latte. Yup… it’s happening. But not all the days a icy and unwelcoming. The east coast has still gifted us with a few days of lingering sun, and the moments between the contrast call for one solution – silk. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | grey silk cami c/o:GRANA | grey silk coordi joggers c/o:GRANA | grey cashmere cardigan c/o:GRANA | swan ring c/o:AURUM JEWELRY | cross diamond ring c/o:SQUAREGAL | grey marble bag c/o:CAFUNE | loafers c/o:NAKED FEET Silk has a way of caressing the skin and creating a sense of warmth and …

if chic off duty

Returned from Columbus after a week of trend work for fall 2016, and finally ready to cozy down into my own home for the next several days.Currently catching up on emails and inspirations. The soft rain piddling outside my windows is adding to the nostalgia… thick blankets, hot tea, and not a place to go or thing to do. It feels so good to be home. Going to be draped in some seriously off-duty styles for the next couple of weeks. Jeans, I’ve truly missed you. And something about holey ones makes me feel even more relaxed. Got these new ones and this cozy knit bralette from the Lookbook Store. I’ve seriously been living in this bralette, and plan to be in nothing else for the rest of the day. They’ve got some seriously great steals, if you’re in the mood for some online shopping this weekend! photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | blouse c/o:IFCHIC | denim c/o:LOOKBOOK STORE | bralette c/o:LOOKBOOK STORE | bucket bag c/o:THE LEATHER COLLECTIVE | shoes c/o:CLARKS | timepiece c/o:CHRISTIAN PAUL | iphone case c/o:GMYLE | stack …

hey there slick

Apparently have an unquenchable taste for all-black lately. I swear I’ll branch out later this week… maybe. I’ve been musing over Instagram’s never ending inspirations, and really feeling the knee-ripped jeans and succulent vibes. Unfortunately, I don’t have a green thumb, so I’ll have to live sans pop of spiny greenery for now. However, here’s my nod to western undertones, the minimalist’s edition of course. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | top:EXPRESS | jeans:ROCKSTAR | bucket bag c/o:THE LEATHER COLLECTIVE | silk scarf c/o:VèVèlle | timepiece c/o:FJORD | boots c/o:OTBT By far my favorite bag silhouette of the year, introducing my very first (and favorite) bucket bag from The Leather Collective. Hand crafted hide, this piece has been my go-to since it arrived. (was that just an adorable, unplanned rhyme… yes… yes it was.) What I like about it: bucket bags roomy enough to haul around my daily equipment needs, without being as bulky as a tote. Plus I’m a huge sucker for rich leather, so this was a no brainer for me. Their designs have a nice …
