keep yourself in check

While 2020 continues to prove more uncertain by the day, it’s important for us to always challenge ourselves introspectively. If your actions, motivations, and state of being are not being lead by love, check yourself. Ask yourself why. Look at yourself, straight in the eyes, and determine what will drive you. What will motivate you. photography:JOSH WOLFE | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | check blazer:H&M | sunglasses c/o:SLOANE EYEWEAR | slip on shoes c/o:NAKED FEET We cannot force others to change, but we can lead by taking our own steps in the right direction. We can change the world, by changing ourselves. Find a quiet place, without distractions, and discover your own answers. While I love to travel the world, experience the hustle of city life, and discover new cultures… my quite place is serenity. Here in the mountains of Virginia, I’ve been able to let go, rediscover myself again and again, and choose for myself who I am. In a time of chaos, I encourage you to find a place where your soul refuels. …

that holiday feelin

The holiday weekend is upon us! Headed to Wisconsin to see the fam for the weekend. Road-tripping it with two monstrous dogs in the backseat… wish me luck. Note to self, don’t wear black. Or leggings. Or anything else comfortable for that matter, since somehow “comfy” = world-shifting force magnet for dog hair. #itsgonnabealongtrip #ineedlintrollers Also, not going to be so warm up north, so I’m enjoying this record sun to the max while for my last days in VA for the week. Not often you can wear skirts and scarves in a Virginia winter, but I’ll take it! photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | knit skirt:TJMAXX | scarf:LOUIS VUITTON | lace-up shoes c/o:TRAFFIC SHOE | bracelet c/o:AEROCULATA | rings c/o:AEROCULATA | stack chokers c/o:NO WEEKENDS | nail laquer c/o:INTENSAE Huge fan of lace-up shoes, and these little shooties are a total steal with Traffic Shoe’s sale, buy 1 get one for $1. Word of advise for when to splurge or steal: for timeless pieces (scarves, knits, quality basics, etc) go big or go home. They’ll be in your …

bermuda triangl

Couldn’t think of a better thing to write about than vacation to get through the mid-week blues. At least my mind can be in a happy place while my butt is glued to this uncannily uncomfortable office chair. Need a break but stuck in a swirling vortex of work and life chaos? Take a day – or a half day. Or a couple hours with your favorite glass of wine. The reset is crucial, especially when you don’t have time. Eat, drink, breathe, repeat… then get your lazy butt back to work. Only twice I have felt the sun and shade of palms this year. Once during my tour of India, and the other last weekend just for a day at the semi-local beach in VA. Posting a couple pictures of both to aid in my mental getaway. Also taking my new Tringl suit for it’s first spin. It’s made from scuba… how cool is that. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 + HTC RE | suit c/o:TRINGL | cosmetic bag c/o:SNAPMADE | portable charger c/o:LEPOW | nail laquer c/o:INTENSAE Beach …

a tether keeping me there

In a place inescapable, and not wanting to leave. Welcome to one of the many wonders of the world, Natural Bridge. Deemed the “Bridge of God” by the Indians who discovered it, this archway was carved from the seemingly still waters that run through it’s gateway. Whether it was the contrast of shade beneath the bridge, or the cool blue of the water’s reflection, my breath felt hot against the stone, like an earthen beast lurking in the dark in search for prey. ….ooor maybe I just felt like a bad-ass wearing laced leather shorts and killer sandals. Either way, it made the adventure all the more exciting. Which, by the way – I was able to enjoy with dad and bother visiting for the weekend. If you ever find yourself in VA, this place is great for an all-day of play with trails along the bridge, a semi-large zoo, and the deepest caves on the East Coast. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III |  top:VINCE | shorts:NASTYGAL | gladiators:OTBT | pendant and chain c/o:SILVER MOTH And if you can appreciate beauty that takes time, …

cold beach hot coffee

Just returned from the most lovely trip to VA beach which I visited for a shoot (more on that later in the year) Spent the extra down time on the beach of course. First day was a balmy mid-70’s type day – perfect for strolling along the sea. The second day (which these photos are from) was FREEZING. Nastygal fleece and Starbucks came to the rescue, so sorry you’re going to see this jacket twice. I believe in packing light. However, I couldn’t resist being that tourist that regardless of the season, had to jet to the beach at 7:00am to catch the sunrise – even through the shivers. Bonus of a cold beach is that we had it all to ourselves! It actually made for quite a charming morning. Though my photographer may have disagreed… Wearing a new shop for the first time called BlackFive. I was apprehensive to order due to mixed reviews online, however the entire lot I purchased from them (and I did purchase a lot) were fantastic! Good quality for …
