what’s in the bag | shoot day edition

Happy near the end of the week fashion friends. In working with some amazing brands the past several weeks, I found it funny getting back into the mode of regular shoot-days to pack all the goodness in a short timeframe. In doing so, thought you guys might like to see what’s in the bag on shoot days. photography:KRISTINA PETRICK | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | leather travel tote c/o:DAGNE DOVER | water bottle c/o:TEATANK | sneakers:ADIDAS ORIGINALS | scarf c/o:LULUS | lipstick c/o:BITE BEAUTY | sunnies c/o:WYETH First matter of conversation, the bag itself. Just in from Dagne Dover, this beaut is a supple leather, multi-pocketed masterpiece of design. Why I love it? It has pockets. for. everything. iPad, laptop, cords, lipsticks, sunnies, phone – you name it. It has a place. In fact, it even has a nook for a water class or umbrella. Took it with my to NYC (and carried it around this very day) discovering that nook also makes a great carry area of cushion for a camera lens or other items …

The tones here were softened from the burst of colors in the rest of India. It’s as if the city gave off a radiance of soft tenderness. A sort of pearl itself, amidst a palace of jewels. Checking-in to Jaipur. Known for the architectural beauty of it’s cities, temples, forts,.. and pearls. The photos capture a mixture of Amber Fort (which we actually toured twice – once on foot, once on elephant!) as well as a stop along the water palace known as Jal Mahal. One of the most beautiful cities I have ever experienced. The pink city has an ordinance that no building can be painted any other color – which leant the city to a sort of dreamy, ethereal fervor. Attempting to be a minimalist in a country of color. Found this snow white traditional Indian kurta and salwar at a local market, along with the silver rings. baby blues

Quicky cell-phone post just because. Rarely one for color, but something about these washed out tones I find totally do-able. Showing off one of my favorite timepieces from Fjord. Definitely a musthave for an almost-minimalist wardrobe. photography:THE COLEY COLLECTION | camera:iPHONE6 | skirt:ZARA | kicks:NIKE AIRMAX | timepiece c/o:FJORD TIMEPIECES | cool sketch:BELLALAIKA   Highlight of the week, Instagram friend @bellalaika who happens to be an extremely talented sketch artist – posted a piece of art she created from one of my original posts! How cool is she. Seriously. Check her out. You can see her sketch below in the top right corner… or check her out directly @bellalaika Plus a week in instagram – I love when the whole square just works. a minimalist somedays

If you follow this blog regularly, you probably already know I’m a huge fan of minimalistic blogs Modern Legacy and Love Aesthetics (to name just a couple). The crisp aesthetics with a stark contrast in monochrome schemes makes my heart skip – and I can’t look away. The minimalist community has always held a part of me captive. From living in micro houses, to a deliberate constriction in wardrobe and lifestyle – it’s really quite beautifully fascinating. And, I’ve given the thought of conversion some serious consideration. I imagine the metamorphose as an enlightening experience, shedding past burdens, and flooding life with new meaning – transcending the old into a more pure version of oneself. Rebirth. Then I realize I’d have to get rid of all of my stuff… I’ll settle with being a minimalist somedays. And few of my favorite stuffs being worked on the blog today. These new Denimocracy skinnies with an insane amount of stretch make these a new staple item (even if I was a minimalist). Made in CA, and probably one of the most comfortable items I own – you’ll …
