fashion heroes, i’m stalking you

feeling grey by kristina-petrick featuring black home decor   Polyvore obsession continues. It’s like having having the wardrobes of Kaity Modern from Modern Legacy, Ivania Carpio from Love Aesthetics, and Vanessa from The Haute Pursuit – all rolled into one… that you can play in… anytime you want. #fashionheroes #imstalkingyou (if you haven’t heard of them but you’re into minimalistic styling, you need to check them out) All it takes is a few swipes of your fingers and voila, your dream fashion combos have come true. Presented in a pretty package of a malleable, aesthetically pleasing layout. (now if only the clothes came along with it). Oh yeah, and thanks to Polyvore for letting me live out the dream (at least in my head) so much easier. So here’s to my wardrobe heroes, running the bank dry, and beauty over practicality. Cheers.

cold beach hot coffee

Just returned from the most lovely trip to VA beach which I visited for a shoot (more on that later in the year) Spent the extra down time on the beach of course. First day was a balmy mid-70’s type day – perfect for strolling along the sea. The second day (which these photos are from) was FREEZING. Nastygal fleece and Starbucks came to the rescue, so sorry you’re going to see this jacket twice. I believe in packing light. However, I couldn’t resist being that tourist that regardless of the season, had to jet to the beach at 7:00am to catch the sunrise – even through the shivers. Bonus of a cold beach is that we had it all to ourselves! It actually made for quite a charming morning. Though my photographer may have disagreed… Wearing a new shop for the first time called BlackFive. I was apprehensive to order due to mixed reviews online, however the entire lot I purchased from them (and I did purchase a lot) were fantastic! Good quality for …

pumps before utility

Just got back from a short hop in Florida to visit my brother. My flight was delayed on the way… by 6 hours. 6 HOURS. The gate attendants offered all of the stranded would-be-passenger’s pizza for their long-suffering. How kind. Don’t get me wrong, who would be cross at them – they’re not in control of the flight. To the angry people shouting at the poor girls… go to h***. And keep your mouths shut, you’re making the poor girl cry. And learn to relax. However, do remind me to never fly Allegiant again. (enough of my rant) Well the good news is, I had plenty of time to dally, so Instagram became my best friend of the day. Sorry if I over blasted you guys with posts on that front. Just know you were a part of the bigger picture saving of my sanity. (if it’s not already too late for that) OOTD: Sorry had to use the very impossibly cliche acronym. I just learned what it was… at the airport… during my 6 …

water and the wall

It’s been an exciting week here in my blogging dreams. Posts are up, I’m now up and running on Facebook, Twitter, Polyvore, Pinterest, and Instagram; (letting out a gasp and sigh simultaneously) …and I’ve gotten my first few likes and follows. Waiting to have a more solid collection of posts until I spam my friends and loved ones with pleadings of allegiance, but yeah – check them out. While shooting for this post, basic thoughts running through my head: “why don’t I wear hats more often, they totally hide my dirty hair”, “I wonder if starting a blog makes me self-centered since it revolves around posting a million photos of myself…”, “oh well, don’t judge me”, “Speaking to myself in the third person again, hmmm”,… Well might as well get on with it then. Breaking in my new midi skirt I picked up this week at a local boutique, for a total steal by the way. Vince, you never do me wrong. But what I left still smiling wryly  to myself about, is the moment …

it started in september

Ever wonder what it would be like if every whimsical notion that popped into your head was not only entertained, but thought through and dissected for the possibility of execution – rather than locked away into your mind’s file cabinet of endless ideas without further engagement? Well, there would probably be a lot of failures, and impossible amounts of wasted time and resources. But a precious few of those ideas would be given the opportunity to escape the mind’s prison and become something beyond it’s otherwise zero potential, opening up a world of unlimited possibilities. All that to say, today I’ve decided to start a journal of a day in my dreams. This particular day was what I like to think of as perfection. Nothing is better than a warm breezy day in September being spent outdoors with nothing in particular pressing to do, other than take the time to enjoy the moment. Stop and get a cup of jo at the local coffee shop, take the pooch for an extended stroll, eat a cucumber wrap with hummus, and take a …
