My boyfriend just introduced me to my new skincare routine – no joke. Here’s the scoop.
If you’re like me, you are always on the hunt for the perfect skincare routine. Whether it’s trying a new brand getting raving reviews, or just trying to revamp dull skin with a deep dive into key ingredients. We all know this past year of quarantine has been seemingly never ending, but I have discovered this past year of downtime has been one of the best things that could ever happen for my skin. Work from home life saved time, and I was able to focus more on personal care.
The search for the perfect skin care routine can be rather tumultuous with all the millions of products on the market, so I’ve decided to share with you my new secret weapon. One word: Biossance.
Biossance is a skin care and beauty line that formulates clean, nontoxic products using the highest standards in the industry through their commitment to transparency and a blacklist of 2,000+ toxic ingredients.
Biossance originally started as a company that used biotechnology to create an accessible cure for Malaria back in 2003. Over 120 million royalty-free treatments have been given due to this technology. Today they have continued to use this innovative biotech, but have turned to skincare. They continue to make a positive impact on the world through the way of what people put on their faces and bodies every day.
They create skincare that is effective and safe without harming the environment or animals. These products can make a difference for the health of your skin and the health of the planet.
Squalane is the major ingredient in all Biossance products and was created in their labs. The human body produces its own version of Squalane called squalene, but the amount retained is decreased as you get older.
Biossance has engineered a way to produce squalane as safely and effectively as your own body does.
Biossance squalane comes from 100 percent plant-based, renewable sugarcane, and then is bio-fermented to create the flawlessly hydrating end result. This highly stable, completely sustainable and eco-friendly squalane is perfect for all skin types. Squalane locks in moisture, clams and protects skin, improves natural elasticity, and balances oil production without clogging your pores.
Squalene is an oil that has historically been used to create moisturizers and skin care products. This oil is found in sharks, thus putting them in danger from hunters since the 16th century. Not really worth the price. Sharks are critical members of the ocean ecosystem and directly or indirectly affect all levels of the food web. They are major players in the need to maintain structure in healthy ocean ecosystems. Biossance has made it their mission to create squalane, a renewable, sugar-cane derived, version of squalene.
This ethical, vegan hydrator is at the heart of all Biossance products and has helped to save 2 million sharks every year.
The beauty industry takes a major toll on our earth, whether its animal testing or producing waste. Biossance is simple. Clean. Skincare.
Of course we all love our skin care, but it’s time to be more responsible with our choices.
One more reason Biossance is such an incredible company, going beyond a great product, and considering our environment a well. I mean really, do you even know what is going on your face half the time? Biossance is not only a clean, non-toxic company, they’re also working to inform their consumers on dangerous chemicals for skin and the environment that are often pumped into our beauty routines. That’s why Biossance has a list of 2,000 banned chemicals, to help you make clean choices.
Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil Review
It’s time for me to get to the good stuff – the Biossance skincare review. The first product I tried was the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil. This oil is meant to brighten, firm and hydrate. Just press a few drops into your skin morning and night, after serum and before moisturizer.
The vitamin C is a strong brightener and even helps to boost the elasticity of your skin to keep that youthful bounce, while the squalane locks in moisture. This product absorbs into the skin beautifully and leaves your face dewy and smelling of roses. Truly luxury in a bottle.
This is my favorite of all the Biossance products I’ve tried, and my boyfriend started noticing a difference in my skin just days after regular use. My dark spots started to fade (thanks Vitamin C), and I had a healthy, notable glow.
Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream Review
Next up is the Squalane + Omega Repair Cream. If your skin is begging for a deep moisturizer without the greasy feel after, then this product is for you. This repair cream is formulated with lipids that mimic and support your skin’s natural moisture barrier The squalane and omega fatty acids help plum and nourish your skin. Apply this product to your clean face and neck, following your eye products, serums, and other treatments. This repair cream is amazing for super dry and tight skin, especially if you love in a place that is cold and dry. Your winter skin will never be the same.
I apply a finger’s dab across my most dry areas after applying the rose oil, and it helps my skin to stay hydrated throughout the day, without getting oily.
Biossance Squalane + Maine Algae Eye Cream Review
The Squalane + Maine Algae Eye Cream instantly firms, lifts, and smooths the look of skin. It truly breathes new life into dark and tired looking eyes. Maine algae and paracress extract are the newest innovations in our eye cream technology. Together they result in lifted eyes that have visibly reduced fine lines and wrinkles. This cream’s melt in texture helps to deeply hydrate and creates a perfect canvas for makeup. For the best results, apply this cream to the entire eyes area using your ring finger. Massage around the eye, out to your temple, and underneath your brow bone. Use this life saving cream twice a day, morning and night, after cleansing and before serums and moisturizer.
Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Hand Cream Review
Winter might be over, but dry skin is a battle that’s ongoing. If you have the tendency to get dry or even cracked hands, Biossance Omega Repair Hand Cream has the solution. The formula is deeply hydrating, packed with (you guessed it) squalane, omega fatty acids and vitamin E that helps provide instant relief to dry skin. When I really feel like treating myself, I use this on all of my driest spots like my elbows and knees.
Biossance Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm Review
Last but certainly not least, the Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm. Don’t forget, lips are skin too and need just as much attention as the rest of that gorgeous face. If you’re like me and are constantly reapplying your lip balm, then this is hands down the product for you. It is the best clean lip balm out there.
This vegan, petroleum-free formula delivers a long lasting replenishment. The ultra-hydrating moisturizers, luxurious rose wax, and plumping wakame algae is the perfect trio for healthy, soft lips. The shine and softness that it leaves on the lips stays all day.
My lips are forever chapping, and I’ve found that an application in the morning and evening helps me maintain healthier lips in addition to my frequent daytime applications. If you do decide to shop the balm, I’ve noticed they’ve changed up the packaging from this mini tub to a tube (even better for effortless application).
If you are looking for a new skincare brand to try out then look no further. Biossance products are truly amazing and do exactly what they are designed to – plus the sustainability and mission of the company is a great added bonus we can’t afford to ignore. Protect your skin and the earth with these effortlessly luxurious, yet conscious products. And remember, nothing looks better in your fifties than skincare in your twenties.
