living lighter with less

’Til 2022, a deep desire for “less” has continued to well up in my being. Perhaps partially driven by a complex, heavy world around us. Simplicity is uncomplicated peace, and excess is no more than baggage. I’ve applied this not only to a more capsule approach to my wardrobe, but throughout my home and life as well. It’s become easier and easier to let go of the baggage that builds up with time, and more and more rewarding as the piles of unneeded disappear leaving more time to kick back and enjoy what you have. Not only in things which are material, but also in matters of the mind.    We are a generation of over thinkers. Of excess, and emotional weights we carry with us throughout our lives. It’s a new year, and it’s time to eliminate and reduce baggage – physically, mentally and emotionally. The cause and effect is simple, with less, we are lighter. With less burdens, we can stand up straighter. We become free to pursue what makes us truly happy without …

Loafers offer the perfect solution – a tailored style that can be worn with casual minimalist office essentials, or dressed up true to the 90’s for those re-embracing fashion with open arms.  …

modern suiting trends | the skirt suit

Skirt suits aren’t new. They’ve been around since the 19th century, when women wore tailored jackets with long skirts for riding and archery, and we still see equestrian inspired details in the hottest suiting trends of today.  All that to say, skirt suits been a preppy wardrobe staple that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and sure to continue as one of the most popular fashion trends season after season. I’m ditching my old sweats for Los Angeles Apparel

November has arrived, and with it that chill that seeps into your bones and steals away every semblance of summer’s past comforts. Thankfully, I’ve found my new live-in uniform thanks to Los Angeles Apparel. I’ve spent more than I care to admit on the hunt for the perfect sweatpants – all in vain. The material is always wrong, scratchy or too thin. Or the elastic so tight my feet loose feeling within moments. The fit’s not right, they collect lint like cheap velvet. I’ve even made the investment on some luxury brand sweatshirts on my quest – to find that my oversize sweatshirt was actually so heavy (and not soft) that my shoulders were ablaze by the end of the day. I’ve also tried Amazon Basics, some pop-culture retail boutiques, you name it. When Los Angeles Apparel reached out and offered me some pieces from their collection, my past experience made me a sceptic – to say the least. However with no obligations asked, I decided to give them a try. I can’t tell you how …

this fall’s minimalist pop color: green

There may never have been such a strong color trend as this 2021 trending hue. The new fashion statement color – a bold hue of vivid green.  Perhaps due to society’s shift in getting back to nature, this color of life is dominating catwalks and streetstyle stars alike. (OK I made up the getting back to nature part… but hey, it makes sense). And, after doing some further digging into the trend, in fact the FW21-22 NYFW Color Forecast does call the color a tribute to “the fun side of nature.” Spotted on stars like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid (frequently spotted sporting this color trend), you probably can’t open your social without spotting some hue of primary to emerald green. Green is truly the color of life. And while fall slowly steals that away from us, we’re still reminded of summer memories with this grassy hue that somehow evokes a feel-good energy. Who wouldn’t want to capture that. And it’s not just your fashion influencers adopting the trend. Major luxury players like Bottega Veneta and …

fw21 fashion trend report

Not really sure where summer went, but after a brief hiatus for our summer wedding, fall has nearly arrived – and it’s time for a fall trend fashion report. Working in the fashion industry now for 10 years, it’s always a seasonal highlight to review just what’s new and what’s being reinvented. 2021 proved to be another chaotic year socially and politically, which always leads to an interesting mix of fashion trends emerging across the scene globally. A medium where people seek to express themselves through a mix of patterns, silhouettes and statement pieces, fashion is the personal expression of our society’s “climate”. As such, it’s no surprise to see a more natural mix of fall trends emerging as people seek to identify with a more simple time Sustainability plays a dominant role across all fall fashion trends, as brands and consumers alike begin to think more about the repercussions fo their actions and purchases. Nature has inspired many of our fall trends, from a mix of unprecedented natural materials like grasses, plastics and even …

the new golden standard | randolph sunglasses and a weekend escape to the outer banks

There’s something about salty air and sandy skin that cures the soul. And something about summer that makes the soul long for endless days and star filled nights. It’s not just the sun. Not just the waves crashing on the shoreline. It’s the feeling. The feeling of freedom. The feeling of hope. It’s all of our favorite parts of the season that create a new summer story year after year. Amidst this year’s craziness, we were finally able to experience our first taste on Ocracoke Island, Outer Banks. photography:JOEL CORSON | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | sunglasses:c/o:RANDOLPH While I could muse endlessly about the remote shoreline, marina culture, and quaint but charming setting, today’s topic at hand is on one of summer’s most quintessential accessories – sunnies. Like a new bikini and vacation hoodie, sunglasses are an essential we find ourselves browsing for at the first sign of warmer weather. I was introduced to Randolph sunglasses just a few short weeks prior to our escape, and of course – decided the early summer holiday couldn’t begin …
