confident

Demi Lovato’s “Confident” stuck in my head. Holy girl-power… if that’s not enough to get you strutting your stuff this weekend, not sure what will. The past week has been spent in mindful debate over a new direction in my working carrier. When you come to a crux in life, it can be difficult to be confident that, (within the rush of emotions and opportunities) the decision you make will be the best one. But more than right or wrong, it’s most important that when you do make the choice, you stick to it with guns blazing. No one can predict the future, but you can wield the direction of the day with your choices. So here’s to being confident that today will be your day, and you will live it boldly. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | silk blouse:VINCE | skirt c/o:DIARIO DE UNA COUTURIER | luggage set:TUMI | shoes c/o:CLARKS | stack rings c/o:K D’ANGELO With a fresh working mindset – and this totally beautiful new luggage set gifted to me by a good friend Manish, the feeling of …

The elephant keeps walking as the dogs keep barking. Something they don’t teach you in business class. This adage from India came from my partner in crime, and I will continue to keep the words in heart. With the growth of success, comes an onslaught of negativity. And no, I’m not talking about constructive criticism that helps you grow. I’m talking about the truly nasty, nonfactual, and unprofessional based nagging and manipulation of situations with seemingly no purpose or cause. You’ve probably worked with a few such people in your life, and if you continue to grow in a path of success, you can probably expect a lot more. While the spirit’s first reaction may be to reflect the attitude, the best advise I’ve received: The elephant keeps walking as the dogs keep barking. The fact of the matter is, you’ll never be able to train the dogs. Instead, an elephant walks steadily through the streets, seemingly unaffected by the barking around them. Focus on your goals and how to achieve them. The rest around you, is just noise fading away. photography:KUNDAN …

bloggers bend both knees

Had a funny, brief IG conversation with a friend Samuel from Style Over Substances about the awkward things bloggers do to get just the right shots. Things that non-bloggers (and bloggers alike) would probably be on the floor cracking up about it if they were to have any clue, or (God forbid) witness any one of these travesties. One of mine that started the convo – balancing my iPhone on a coffee table, and sprinting to my couch (…. several times… like, literally 20 times. ok 30…) to get a seemingly relaxed living room shot when I was home by myself. Another one – the fake walk. Don’t lie to me, I know you’ve done it too. And one of those even stranger components I’ve noticed about said fake walk… bending both knees makes it somehow look more natural…. even though I’m pretty sure no one bends both knees so far down in a regular stride. So please tell me because I’m dying to know – what are the most peculiar things you’ve found yourself …
