just when things were getting interesting

Enjoyed a bit of unorthodox leisure time last week. Between checking off some of those dusty to-do’s and enjoying a couple evenings over a glass of wine (and by a glass, yes… I do mean bottle), I was also also able to catch the flick Kingsman. Antiquated as the concept may be, I can’t get enough of the gentleman = lethal spy plot. Guys, in case you haven’t figured it out yet – suits are to women, as lingerie is to men. We find it attractive when you at least look like you’ve got your sh** together. And really, if you can’t bear to get out of your stained collage T and torn jeans on occasion, just bear this in mind: you don’t wear it, neither will we. #yourenotthebossofme #unlessyoulooklikeone Something about leather pants aways does it for me. edge of darkness

I seriously need to start buying other colors besides black… but let’s be honest, the next time you find that perfectly cut sweater of your dreams and decide to mix it up, it’s going to sit stuffed in the corner of forgottens, and you’re going to be wishing it WAS black. Ok, white, grey, and nude are also fabulous choices, but who wants to look like a bag of skittles coated in care-bear puke. (that was a bit dramatic and gross, sorry) Neutrals are just the best, that’s all I’m saying. This Thursday’s post are a few photos from a MADELiNE Shoes photoshoot I had the pleasure of being involved in, as a part of my work. I don’t model for MADELiNE, usually just coordinate the shoots (hence my face chopped off in most of these). But sometimes in a pinch, we’ll take any size 6.0 that comes our way – this day happened to be me. What else I’m wearing (and yes, in case you were wondering, I do get to keep the clothes …

falling out

Fall, along with it’s brilliant colors and crisp air, brings mixed feelings… Truly it’s one of the most breathtaking times of the year. One could never replace the smell of turning leaves catching in the wind, the brightness of the sky in those moments at dawn and dusk, and the warmth of the sun in the afternoons. But a certain undertone of the darkest sadness sets in with the realization that summer has past, and the death of the growing things on the earth will bring on the set of the bitterness of winter. The sky now darkens in the evenings before one has time to rush home for supper, and the once pleasant walks in the evenings are now most dreaded. Winter, we’re braced but never ready. Staying bundled up and warm, so unless we get an onset of Indian Summer, expect a lot of layers for the next few months. Wearing a new overcoat from BlackFIVE which I refused to take off even for photos. These Jbrand jeans are one of the most …

when it’s all said and done

I’ve been waiting a solid week to make this post – actually longer if you consider the time from when I found this coat and created the outfit in my head. Perhaps it’s absurd to get so excited over one article of clothing, but frankly I don’t care. It was love from the moment I spotted this too-soft, toasty, perfectly shaded overcoat. And where was it hiding, no other than T.J. Maxx. Yes I’m a bit obsessed with that place, and this particular shopping trip really broke the bank. But how could one resist. This Geianni Feraud masterpiece was a fraction of the original price (I’m getting shaky just thinking about it). The find would have been the highlight of my week, other than the fact I finally got to take a long fall drive to do nothing but admire the season. Photographed every inch of this earth from point A to point B on the mini trip. The rest of it – a mixed pot from the good to very good. Bargain pieces include …

no parking

Totally unplanned post, but had to stop along side of the road to enjoy a bit of the newly morphed fall scenery. I’m not much of a bright-colors person myself (as you can see by the B&W photos choice of the day… oh yeah and everything else I wear) but something about the bright oranges and yellows of fall with the smells of dry leaves and the last of the cut grass – yum. Don’t worry, I’m not turning into the Pumpkin Spice Latte, scarves with everything, throwing leaves in the air type chica (you know who you are) <insert menacing face> Just playing… love you girls. But for real, I’ll stick with my black coffee and not-quite-as-enthusiastic enjoyment of the fall season. Wearing: black denim moto vest that’s by Kill City. I actually got this from TJMax (my heart’s true weakness) but took a look at their site today to link – they have a modest collection of nice things in denim and leather. Can’t say for the rest of their items, but I …
