my beige life

Snowed in on the east coast, and loving every moment of it. These moments of ordinary life are ones you can appreciate all of the simple things in life… namely a hot salt bath and a bottle of red wine #bringonthesnow Being house-bound also means I’ll be spending another week working from home, and saving NYC for the first week of Feb. Just ordered my home office supplies (goodbye bank account) – at least I’ll be graduating from the kitchen table soon. Will be sure to share photos as soon as it’s up. Planning to swap around arrangements every couple of weeks or so to keep the setting fresh. Getting things organized has also prompted cleaning out the closet (yet again) and getting back to basics. I’ve been living in skinnies and knits this week. Any other minimalists out there adding beige to their monochrome wardrobe? Something about the fleshy tone makes me feel nearly as good as nude. photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:CANNON 5D MARK III | grecian knit c/o:VIDEO CLOTHING | skinnies c/o:PARKER SMITH | …

sunny days should be casual

Continuing to enjoy unseasonably warm as rays of sunshine spill into the eastern US. My coffee pot has never felt so neglected, and my margarita blender so overused X) Just wrapped up week two at the new job, and my happy-glow is still on full beam. Everyone should have the opportunity to wake up with a smile, and be able to carry it throughout the rest of the day til you land back in bed. Predicting the year 2016 to be the best of many. Lifesong playlist on repeat, and I don’t want to turn it off. And with sunny days and spirits, I’ve been keeping it relaxed and casual to match the mood. Recently joined hands with A’Gaci for a series of collaborations, so excited to be sharing their collection with you. First on the list is this fray denim, white-out weekday casual wear. Skinnies and a blouse are a go-to when weather permits and I don’t feel like over-thinking my attire. Bonus points for monochrome (that’s even easier). And when it’s cold, I pretty much just swap out the heels for …

that holiday feelin

The holiday weekend is upon us! Headed to Wisconsin to see the fam for the weekend. Road-tripping it with two monstrous dogs in the backseat… wish me luck. Note to self, don’t wear black. Or leggings. Or anything else comfortable for that matter, since somehow “comfy” = world-shifting force magnet for dog hair. #itsgonnabealongtrip #ineedlintrollers Also, not going to be so warm up north, so I’m enjoying this record sun to the max while for my last days in VA for the week. Not often you can wear skirts and scarves in a Virginia winter, but I’ll take it! photography:KUNDAN KUMAR | camera:NIKON D90 | knit skirt:TJMAXX | scarf:LOUIS VUITTON | lace-up shoes c/o:TRAFFIC SHOE | bracelet c/o:AEROCULATA | rings c/o:AEROCULATA | stack chokers c/o:NO WEEKENDS | nail laquer c/o:INTENSAE Huge fan of lace-up shoes, and these little shooties are a total steal with Traffic Shoe’s sale, buy 1 get one for $1. Word of advise for when to splurge or steal: for timeless pieces (scarves, knits, quality basics, etc) go big or go home. They’ll be in your …

just when things were getting interesting

Enjoyed a bit of unorthodox leisure time last week. Between checking off some of those dusty to-do’s and enjoying a couple evenings over a glass of wine (and by a glass, yes… I do mean bottle), I was also also able to catch the flick Kingsman. Antiquated as the concept may be, I can’t get enough of the gentleman = lethal spy plot. Guys, in case you haven’t figured it out yet – suits are to women, as lingerie is to men. We find it attractive when you at least look like you’ve got your sh** together. And really, if you can’t bear to get out of your stained collage T and torn jeans on occasion, just bear this in mind: you don’t wear it, neither will we. #yourenotthebossofme #unlessyoulooklikeone Something about leather pants aways does it for me. what’s your sign

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:25-26 Something about the moon and stars have always captured me. Staring into the light of the softly lit globe of stone just makes me feel… different. There is a bigger power that moves through our universe, and looking to the sky seems to strengthen that connection. The night always frightened me a bit growing up, so perhaps it’s also learning to embrace your fears and somehow becoming something else in the transition. Not alone in my fascination, I spent hours wandering Jantar Mantra in Jaipur, India on my most recent trip. It was fascinating to see how people have tried to interpret something so beyond our world. I don’t believe in the catchy phrases and predictions …
