We got one thing right. Everyone just needs more time. Time to conquer, time to sleep, time to relax, time to think. Time is an element, an element we can never own, only live within.
Time is the new luxury. I’ve said it before, and I’ll continue to let my works circle around it. I do this in hopes that as people become more aware, they can appreciate it all the more.
Time is eternal, yet so short. The moments we have to breath on this earth pass beneath our feet like floodwaters in a storm. It can drown us if we’re not steadfast. It can also push us forward if we allow ourselves to overcome our obstacles and glide over the waves.
Time can also heel. It provides clarity. It provides rest and refreshment as we sleep through the night. As much as you’re hurting, as much as you’re working, it is worse when you cannot allow yourself and your mind the nourishment of time.
At times we all feel like we’re a wreck. We all feel as if our soul is drowning. But with time, we can be better. We can learn to do whatever it takes. We can be the best version of ourselves. With time, you can be exactly who you were were born to be.
In time, things will all play out, everything will be alright, and I’ll be here waiting. I just need time. Of all of the gifts you were given, I pray you give yourself the gift of time, so that you may use your other gifts wisely.
“Actin’ like I’m gone but we both in the same room
I don’t like to be wrong, which I know you relate to
And I know I make you feel like you’re at the end of your road
That’s when I look at you and tell you I’d be better alone
That’s just the pride talkin’, isn’t it?
‘Cause both of us know
I’m the definition of “wreck” if you look into my soul
Comes out the most when I feel I’m in a vulnerable place
Made a lot of mistakes, I wish I knew how to erase
When I’m afraid, might get distant and I push you away
But no matter the case, I’ma do whatever it takes
Even if—even if we both break down tonight
And you say you hate me
And we go to bed angry
I know everything will be alright
I’ll be here waiting
I promise I’m changing
I just need time.” – Time, NF
