not the same as I was with you

Back where we started, and doin’ just fine. Change is in the water, and the water feels right. The sky is pale, and the faint smell of my packed sandwich is somehow suffocating. The train is in motion, and it’s moving fast – goodbye NYC, the journey back to where it started begins.

The mood? Calm. Still like the water in the windless exterior on the other side of the glass. Out there it’s deceivingly cold, with only a faint chill creeping through the window sill. Song on repeat: Frenship’s Capsize. 8 hours left to go and I’ll once again be home. Catching up on notes from the week, sorting through holiday photos reliving time well spent. Giving in to the journey set before me, today and for the years to come. Contemplating life’s most recent twists and turns, and once again find myself facing uncertainty… but with open arms.

Change is inevitable. I’m only grateful for those opportunities that I’ve had, and those yet to come.

The look? Currently in travel denim and a sweat jumper. Common’ just because I’m a fashion blogger doesn’t mean I alway travel chic. But for the sake of loveliness, here’s some shots of a winter dress ootd, layered with faux fur and some sparkling accessories. The luxury feel of anything plush is a welcome sensation in these bitter months of the season. Open toes may not be advised but hey – it’s Virginia. Overall, it doesn’t get that cold save for a few weeks deep in the winter months. Last week it reached up to 60, and I’m hoping not to bring NYC’s cold back with me.

All the ice I need is what’s on my wrist, thanks to Michael Hill for my beautiful diamond bracelet and silver stack rings. That’s a welcome chill I’ll take any day. Currently tucked away in my luggage, they made the NY journey with me, and were my staple pieces of the week. Diamonds are luxury that doesn’t go out of style, and when packing light, a few quality essentials go a long way. The twists in the bands have so much detail and can be worn as a simple statement apart, or stacked together for a more luxury fashion feel.

Actually took the time to do my hair to match the look – an occurrence that would be more frequent if I only kept up with my New Year’s resolutions past. Perhaps this year… lots of changes to come.

Speaking of change, for those of you who noticed the new site, thank you for the kind words, and for all of the support you have given me in the past year. Blogging has been an incredible journey, and I look forward to sharing many more ootds, travel adventures and lifestyle memoirs with you in the days, weeks and years to come. Here’s to the journey ahead. May life be happy, fulfilled and of course, filled with luxurious fashion.
